How Over 300 Organizations are Considering Mobile Event Apps to Improve Their Conferences
Mobile apps are quickly gaining momentum as the primary means for distributing information at conferences and events. This trend is driven by the rapid adoption of smartphones and tablets by the general public. According to Pew Research Center, as of September 2012, 45% of American adults own a smartphone and 18% own a tablet. As a result, more associations and institutes are developing mobile strategies in order to better reach existing members as well as attract new members.
The purpose of our survey was to understand how organizations are using mobile apps at conferences and events. In particular, we examined why organizations are implementing mobile event apps, what features are important and how budgets are being allocated.
